What you will learn
- Understand the basic principles and components of design systems
- Identify usability principles and techniques to improve design
- Identify and understand recent legislation that establishes accessibility standards and requirements
- Analyse accessibility standards and guidelines, such as the WCAG, and relate them to design systems
- Understand the implications of the transposition of the European Accessibility Act into national legislation
- Explore tools and technologies that support digital accessibility
Description
This course provides a detailed approach to creating design systems focused on digital usability and accessibility. Participants will learn the foundations of design systems, including essential components and patterns, and will explore key principles of usability and digital accessibility. The course will also cover the process of creating, implementing, and maintaining design systems, supported by real examples. In addition, it will outline the latest national and European laws and guidelines related to accessibility.
Assessment and certification
At the end of each module, in order to assess your progress, you will complete a test with a compulsory learning check, which will account for 50% of the final grade.
At the end of the course, you will take a Final Assessment Test worth 50% of the final mark.
