What you will learn

The basics of Insurance and SDG. The relationship of each SDG with the Insurance sector. How the insurance sector can contribute to achieve all SDGs.

Description

In this course, students will gain an understanding of the relationship between EU Insurance Law, SDGs and Human Rights. Students will be able to identify potential threats and opportunities for the SDGs and Human Rights in the insurance markets. They will be also prepared to provide a quick response to the former using a human rights-based approach. When given the facts of a legal problem relating to insurance, SDGs and Human Rights students will also be able to transfer the solution to the wider public, including a large range of stakeholders.

Format

9 sessions. Each session is divided into two groups, with two 10-15 minutes videos each. At the end of each group, an assessment test is presented. The videos, as well as the tests and other support information, are only available in English.

Prerequisites

People interested on insurance and SDG.

Assessment and certification

Certificate of passing the tests with at least 7/10 in the overall assesment.

7. SDG12: Responsible Consumption and Production and SDG8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
8. SDG4: Quality Education and SDG16: Peace and Justice Strong Institutions.
