    Description

The BIM methodology (Building Information Modeling) is now considered to be the driving force behind the digitalisation of the AEC sector (Architecture, Engineering and Construction), so it is essential for professionals in the sector to develop their knowledge and skills in this area.

As part of the BIM4HEI project - Development of BIM knowledge in higher education to boost the competencies of young people and reinforce the interdisciplinarity in European Universities (ERASMUS+), one of the results of the project is the MOOC now presented on Building Information Modelling - BIM Methodology. The project aimed to develop and implement innovative practices, tools and methodologies for teaching and learning the BIM methodology, the application of which is materialised in this MOOC, developed by teams from three higher education institutions that are part of the cooperation partnership: Czech Technical University in Prague (CTU), University of Aveiro (UA), University of Applied Sciences Dresden (HTW Dresden).

    Format

The course is divided into 4 blocks of lessons, each with supporting videos. The course videos are translated into 4 languages: Portuguese, English, German and Czech.

Each block of teaching is complemented by a series of guided practical workshops (as described in the course plan below), which are developed by the trainees.

    Prerequisites

The following software is required for the workshops:
